About Me

I will make a difference in this world.

Having earned a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University, I believe that I have an excellent foundation to succeed. While studying there, I was a member of the Baja Racing Team, an excellent student-run organization that builds a race car each year and competes in competitions around Canada and the United States. In my final year, I served as the Administrative Director, and helped the team reach new feats. We won numerous awards as a result of the hard work and dedication of my teammates and I, and finished 4th out of more than 100 universities from around the globe in the Society of Automotive Engineer (SAE) competitions, the three official competitions.

In recent years, I have been a member of three exceptional organization: Chestnut Lake Camp, Chungdahm Learning, and Timber Lake Camp. Working primarily with children, I have had the rewarding experience of teaching children responsibility, life-long skills, and how to make and keep friends. At Timber Lake Camp, where I served as a Division Leader, I really enjoyed using my experience to help improve my counsellors' abilities. Eight out of my eleven counsellors earned the top evaluation grade as a result of our dedication to helping each other, and most importantly the campers, to grow.

Over the past three years, I have been learning to program, primarily with Udacity. Having grown my interest over this time, I have completed some structured learning to really boost my skill set. With Udacity, I have finished their Data Analyst Nanodegree, Deep Learning Nanodegree Foundatio, and term 1 (of 2) of their Artificial Intelligence Nanodegree. Data science and machine learning are fascinating fields that will become increasingly more useful and I will continue to learn more about them.

With my new education and enthusiasm, I am ready to help people and businesses succeed. Let's build something great. insanely great.

TESTIMONIALS

"David Currie worked at Timber Lake Camp from 14 June, 2016, through 15 August, 2016, and was an outstanding employee throughout. David is smart, witty, caring, and a phenomenal leader. He was thrusted into an even higher leadership position than he expected once he arrived and made a very smooth transition. David was great with the employees that worked under him and was an even better team player with his colleagues. David’s work ethic is unmatched. He works until he gets it right, which is an attribute few people have. His sense of humor that goes along with his empathy for others is what makes him such an outstanding person."

Robbie Gothelf, Assistant Director,
Timber Lake Camp, 2016

"I have had the pleasure of working with David and I can state with confidence that he is a highly responsible and motivated individual. Over the past year, David has facilitated and supported Chungdahm Learning's smart learning classes, specifically facilitating smart learning classes at the Jamsil branch. Despite initial difficulties adapting to a new culture, David was able to overcome all difficulties and eventually succeeded as one of our top rated faculty members. David enjoys taking the initiative to identify problems and suggesting possible solutions in order to create a better learning environment for his students. Furthermore, he is very cooperative and proactive in all areas of the business. It has been a pleasure working with him and I hope I get another opportunity to work with him in the future."

Richard Yoon, Faculty Manager,
Chungdahm Learning, 2015

"David demonstrated some of the most effective qualities in a camp counselor that we search for and rely on as division leaders. Throughout the entirety of camp, David was my most loyal, reliable, and consistent counselor that I know I could count on to maintain supervision of the campers and their well-being. Most importantly however, David never let the environment and overwhelming status of camp life interrupt his positive and contagious personality. David did everything he was asked with a smile on his face and never stopped to complain or give excuses. Instead, he got the job done with a sense of confidence and simplicity."

Simon Lawson, Division Leader,
Chestnut Lake Camp, 2014

"David's common sense attitude, sense of responsibility and willingness to learn new tasks made him a valuable part of the turf maintenance team during the past 6 golf seasons. David has consistently demonstrated an outstanding work ethic, cooperative attitude and leadership responsibilities throughout his time at West Haven Golf & Country Club."

Todd Currie (no relation), Golf Course Superintendent,
West Haven Golf & Country Club, 2014
